SUMMARY/OBJECTIVE The part time Campus Health Nurse will provide basic health services including testing, assessment and first aid to students and staff; disseminate health services information and provide special­ized assistance and counseling regarding individual health needs; maintain a variety of health records; determine health education/promotion needs and develop action plans; and perform related duties as assigned.

The Campus Health Nurse is responsible for the development, maintenance and administration of efficient and professional operations of employee and student health in accordance with the College’s policies, practices, procedures, and applicable regulations to achieve the desired goals and objectives. This hourly rate for this position is $20-$30 per hour.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Oversee and manage the activities of the Campus Health Office. Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local guidelines as they relate to campus health. Maintain the campus health website information. Communicate with students, staff and the public to obtain and provide health-related infor­mation, make referrals and explain a variety of policies, procedures, rules and regulations concerning healthcare services.

Responsible for securing and developing all records, equipment, and programs related to the campus health office. Collaborate with internal and external contacts for program development. Assist in managing the required programs and services to meet regulatory requirement; such as OSHA, CDC, Arkansas Department of Health, etc.

Maintain all campus health records and ensure HIPAA and FERPA compliance. Identify prevention and health promotion strategies to optimize health of the population. Will perform other duties as assigned. Required skills/abilities: Ability to develop, read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form Exceptional computer skills are essential.

Must be detail oriented, have ability to multitask and possess great interpersonal skills.

Education and Experience

Degree in nursing, other healthcare credentials may be considered for exceptionally well-qualified individuals. Basic understanding of federal and state regulations applicable to infection control and/or occupational and environmental health and safety. Physical Requirements: Prolonged Sitting . Extensive computerized work .

While performing the duties of this job, the worker is regularly required to talk and hear. Fine and gross motor skills required.
