Job description
MQ admin role Dublin Permanent Role Install, configure, upgrade, and administer MQ queue managers on Linux/Unix. Manage queues, channels, listeners, clustering, and high availability setups. Implement and maintain MQ security (TLS, certificates, CHLAUTH). Monitor and troubleshoot channel failures, queue depth issues, and performance problems.
Perform capacity planning, DR testing, and platform automation. Support event broker platforms (e.g., Kafka/Solace) from an infrastructure perspective. Define and enforce messaging platform standards and operational best practices.
Required Skills
6- 8+ years MQ administration (distributed environments). Strong knowledge of MQ clustering, security, and performance tuning. Experience with Linux, scripting/automation (Shell/Ansible/Python). Familiarity with event-driven platforms or event brokers. Experience supporting large-scale production messaging systems. Any Monitoring tools Monitor IBM MQ performance and proactively identify and resolve issues related to message queuing and delivery.
Configure and administer queue managers, queues, channels, and other MQ objects. Provide support and troubleshooting for IBM MQ-related incidents and problems. Stay current with industry trends and best practices related to IBM MQ and middleware technologies.
