Job description
Centre for Learning Sciences and Technologies Assistant Computer Officer (carrying the job title of ‘Senior Educational Innovation Officer/ Educational Innovation Officer’) The Centre for Learning Sciences and Technologies (CLST) is looking for a capable and self-motivated candidate to support the development, operation and enhancement of its educational technology platforms and research projects.
The appointee will be responsible for (a) supporting the design, development, implementation, maintenance and enhancement of web-based, mobile and AI-enabled educational applications and platforms; (b) exploring and applying emerging technologies, including artificial intelligence, large language models (LLMs), data analytics and other educational technologies, to support research, teaching and school-based projects; (c) assisting in the management and operation of cloud-based systems, servers, databases and related technical infrastructure, including system deployment, testing, security, data protection and backup; and (d) co-ordinating with internal project teams, external developers, service providers and other stakeholders on software development and related technical matters, and providing technical support, documentation and user training where appropriate.
Applicants should have (i) a Bachelor’s degree or above in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, AI, Data Science or related disciplines; (ii) solid experience in software development and system implementation; (iii) good knowledge of modern web and/or mobile application development, databases, APIs and cloud-based technologies; (iv) hands-on experience in one or more areas such as artificial intelligence/LLM applications, full-stack development, mobile application development, cloud infrastructure or system administration; (v) the willingness and ability to learn and apply new technologies; (vi) good analytical and problem-solving skills; and (vii) the ability to work independently and collaboratively with technical and non-technical colleagues.
Having experience in educational technologies, AI-enabled applications, large-scale online platforms, cloud infrastructure, cybersecurity or applications for schools and education will be advantageous. Appointment will initially be made on a 1-year contract, renewable subject to good performance and mutual agreement.
