Warehouse Associate - 2nd Shift

Now Hiring: Warehouse Associate – 2nd Shift Manufacturing Warehouse, Forklift Operations & Steel Distribution Openwork is hiring an experienced Warehouse Associate for an established steel distribution company in Houston, TX 77041 . This hands-on position involves operating forklifts, pulling customer orders, loading and unloading materials, and supporting daily warehouse operations .

Qualified candidates must have at least 2 years of manufacturing warehouse or material-handling experience and hands-on forklift operating experience . Overhead crane and steel industry experience are preferred but not required. Bilingual English/Spanish skills are highly preferred. Position Details: Location: Houston, TX 77041 Pay: $17.

50/hr | Weekly Pay Schedule: Mon–Fri, 11:30 AM–8:00 PM Training: Mon–Fri, 9:00 AM–6:00 PM until completed. Shift: 2nd Shift Employment: Full-Time Overtime: Required as needed, including short or last-minute notice.

Key Responsibilities

Operate forklifts to safely move, load, and organize materials. Pull and prepare customer orders using pick tickets. Load and unload trucks and warehouse materials. Verify material sizes, quantities, grades, and heat numbers. Handle structural steel, pipes, and steel plates. Assist with cutting and measuring materials using shop equipment.

Check order accuracy and complete required documentation. Follow safe material-handling and equipment procedures. Maintain clean and organized warehouse areas.

Qualifications

Minimum 2 years of manufacturing warehouse or material-handling experience required. Hands-on forklift operating experience required. Bilingual English/Spanish skills highly preferred. Overhead crane experience preferred but not required. Steel distribution or steel manufacturing experience is a plus. Ability to read and communicate effectively in English.

Experience loading, unloading, and handling industrial materials. Ability to read pick tickets and use basic measuring tools. Basic math skills and strong attention to detail. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. Dependable attendance and strong teamwork skills. Must be available for short-notice or last-minute overtime. High school diploma or equivalent.

Ability to meet applicable pre-employment background and drug/alcohol screening requirements. Work Environment & Physical Requirements: Industrial warehouse and steel distribution environment. Frequent standing, walking, bending, and lifting. Forklift operation and handling heavy industrial materials. Ability to lift and move materials up to 50 lbs.
