Data Scientist (Senior)

Founded in 1989 and headquartered in Reston, Virginia, SOSi is a private defense and government solutions business specializing in advanced technology systems and mission support. Its capabilities include data science, software development, network engineering, intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (ISR), and logistics.

Position is contingent upon contract award SOSi is seeking a Data Scientist to support our government customer in Chantilly, VA. Essential Job Duties serves as a key technical resource for advanced statistical methods, ML algorithm selection, and enterprise data strategy. Active in scope TS/SCI w/ Poly. Minimum 7+ years of relevant experience.

Proficiency with major data science tools and languages such as PostgreSQL/SQL, Python, R, Ni. Fi, and Git. Experience with cleaning, managing, optimizing performance with, and processing large volumes of data. Familiarity with industry best practices for software/hardware optimization when processing large data sets.

Experience with machine learning, statistical modeling, time-series forecasting, and/or geospatial analytics. Experience with Hadoop, Spark, or other parallel storage/computing processes. Experience providing services to develop AI/ML models and weights to facilitate object detection, data triage, search/optimization, inference, and automated discovery and decision making.
