Job Description Position: 1.0 Physical Education/Health Teacher (.9 Boyce/.10 Eisenhower (per-diem substitute)
Location: Boyce Middle School (5th/6th Grade) and Eisenhower Elementary
Assignment: 08-19-26 through 10-06-26
Summary:
To facilitate students learning the designated subject matter and skills that will contribute to their growth and development; motivate and establish effective rapport and connection with students; establish good relationships with parents and colleagues.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Teach district-approved curriculum,and other health topics as outlined.

Plan a program of study and develop lesson plans and instructional material that is developmentally appropriate, as well as meets the individual needs, interests and abilities of the students.

Create a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interest of the students.

Employ a variety of instructional techniques and instructional media.
-
Encourage students to set and maintain standards of classroom behavior, maintain discipline and utilize appropriate classroom management techniques.

Evaluate students' academic and social growth, seeking the assistance of district specialists, as required.

Teach and oversee individual and team sports, utilizing knowledge of sports techniques and physical capabilities of students and organize, lead, and instruct physical activities.

Select, store, issue and inventory equipment, materials and supplies used throughout the building.

Select, store, issue and inventory equipment, materials and supplies used in the physical education program and throughout the building.

Communicate regularly with students, parents, school counselors and administrators regarding student issues.

Cooperate and collaborate with other staff members.

Participate in the development and implementation of IEPs
-
Follow district policy, guidelines, regulations and procedures, as well as, maintain confidentiality according to law and policy.
Minimum Qualifications
-
Bachelor's degree
-
Valid PA teaching certification - HEALTH/PHYS ED K-12
-
Excellent teaching and classroom management
-
Successfully establish and maintain effective relationships with students, peers and parents

Effective oral and written communication
