Toddler Assistant Teacher

Responsibility Provide daily care for toddlers, including mealtimes, diapering/toilet learning, dressing, and age-appropriate self-care tasks. Maintain consistent routines for sleep, meals, and developmental activities. Support toddlers’ social, emotional, and cognitive growth through interactive play. Use NYS Pyramid Model best practices to foster positive toddler development.

Engage in responsive caregiving, recognizing and responding to toddler cues and needs. Create a clean, safe, and nurturing environment in the classroom. Understand and follow Ellyn Satter’s Division of Responsibility in Feeding. Ensure compliance with childcare licensing regulations and health and safety protocols. Work collaboratively with colleagues to maintain a positive and organized classroom.

Maintain thorough daily records of toddler care, feeding schedules, and parent communication via the Brightwheel platform. Implement developmentally appropriate, play-based learning activities to support children’s emotional and social well-being. Foster a classroom environment that encourages positive peer interactions, emotional regulation, and problem-solving.

Utilize strategies aligned with the NYS Pyramid Model to promote healthy social-emotional development. Understand and follow Ellyn Sadler's Division of Responsibility in Feeding Collaborate with colleagues to support center-wide initiatives. Ensure the safety and well-being of children at all times.
