Senior Manager - U.S. Consumer New Accounts
Job description
Credit and Fraud Risk (CFR) is a global function, responsible for making the right credit and fraud risk decisions that uphold operational excellence, drive growth, and accelerate innovation across American Express. CFR combines technology and infrastructure with new computing techniques to make better risk decisions and provide real-time customer communications and fraud servicing.
This position is on the Global Consumer Services Credit Risk Strategy team and reports to the Director, US CPS New Accounts
- Acquisition Journey. Develop New Account Acquisition Personalization strategies (Project Gambit) and overall journey customer experience, with the goal of driving profitable growth and improve investment efficiency. Drive data insights (e.g., impact to acquisition quality, model and the portfolio) to inform strategy decisions. Enhance and monitor Bank-Based Underwriting (BBUW) strategies to drive profitable growth while ensuring industry-best credit results in New Account acquisitions. Track developments of acquisition journey in the external marketplace to understand industry best practices. Influence Marketing and Product partner strategies to ensure personalization decision consistency, enhance top of the funnel traffic and drive premium applicant quality. Manage partnership with Marketing, Product, Risk Products and Data Strategy, Decision Science, New Accounts Servicing, Fraud, CBO teams to enable enterprise-wide innovations. Advanced Degree in a quantitative field such as Economics, Statistics, Mathematics, Operations Research, Engineering, Computer Science. Outstanding strategic thought leadership with a focus on innovation. Self-motivated, results-driven, intellectually curious and leads with external perspective. Clear, effective written and oral communication skills. Strong collaborative/interpersonal skills and ability to work in a dynamic, constantly evolving environment with strong attention to detail. Project management skills with demonstrated proficiency in leading multiple projects simultaneously. Expertise in underwriting or another core credit risk management function. Deep understanding of credit card economics and the payments industry. Externally focused and aware of the latest technology and market trends in payment, credit trends, credit behavior and external development in the lending industry. Employment eligibility to work with American Express in the United States is required as the company will not pursue visa sponsorship for these positions.
