The Opportunity: UST is looking for a Lab Support Engineer to support client validation lab environments by ensuring the availability, reliability, and operational readiness of test systems. The role involves hardware and software support, system monitoring, firmware management, machine recovery, inventory management, and maintaining lab infrastructure to enable seamless validation activities. Key Roles & Responsibilities: Perform onsite lab operations to support Intel validation environments. Monitor Device Under Test (DUT) and server health using Grafana, Zabbix, ELMO, and other monitoring tools. Execute predefined recovery procedures and document recovery activities. Install, configure, and maintain Windows and Linux operating systems. Perform manual and automated firmware flashing on validation systems. Assemble hardware, replace faulty components, perform upgrades, and verify machine health. Provision test machines and servers for validation activities. Manage rack installation, cable management, and lab infrastructure setup. Maintain inventory records, support logistics, and coordinate equipment relocation. Prepare and maintain validation test environments for ongoing projects. Troubleshoot hardware and software issues and escalate complex technical problems when required. Support monthly operational KPIs related to monitoring, hardware setup, firmware flashing, machine recovery, inventory management, and procedure execution.
Required Skills
Data Center and Lab Operations Windows and Linux OS Installation & Configuration Server Provisioning and System Configuration Hardware Assembly and Troubleshooting Firmware Flashing (Manual & Automated) Machine Recovery and Health Verification Grafana, Zabbix, ELMO, or similar monitoring tools Inventory and Asset Management Rack Installation and Cable Management Documentation and Incident Reporting Desired Skills: Experience supporting Intel validation or hardware test labs.
Knowledge of server hardware, BIOS, and firmware updates. Basic debugging and root cause analysis skills. Familiarity with automation tools and monitoring solutions. Strong problem-solving and communication skills. Ability to work in a fast-paced lab or data center environment. Qualification: Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Computer Science, Information Technology, Electronics, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
