And its waiting for you now.We apply advanced technologies such as Artificial Intelligence, Blockchain, AR/VR, Cloud Native and Quantum Physics to solve our customers missions in cyber, RF, undersea, interstellar and everything in between.THIS IS A 2ND SHIFT POSITION As a Quality CMM Technician for General Dynamics Mission Systems (GDMS) Precision Structures & Optics (PSO), youll be a member of a cross functional team responsible for operating and programming Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM) to ensure that all machined parts meet stringent quality and precision standards.
This role requires a strong understanding of metrology, blueprints, and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing). The Quality CMM Technician performs overall quality inspection for machined parts to ensure they meet the companys quality standards for the manufacture of Beryllium products for use in the most demanding applications, across the aerospace, defense, and nuclear industries.
Our products are used in high performance sensing systems for targeting and acquisition, surveillance, and reconnaissance missions, and are hardened for the battlefield environment.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Operate CMM equipment to perform precise measurements of machined parts. Program CMM machines using appropriate software (e.
g., PC-DMIS, Calypso). Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and GD&T symbols to determine measurement requirements. Conduct first article inspections, in-process inspections, and final inspections to verify product compliance. Document and report inspection results, including any deviations or non-conformances.
Collaborate with machinists and engineers to troubleshoot and resolve quality issues. Maintain and calibrate CMM equipment to ensure accuracy and reliability. Assist in the development and implementation of quality control procedures and standards. Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality and process efficiency.
Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and quality standardsKNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:Basic knowledge of CMM programming software (e.g., PC-DMIS, Calypso). Understanding of metrology, engineering drawings, and GD&TStrong attention to detail and problem-solving skills. Requires minimal supervision and can work as part of a team.
Strong communication and documentation skills. Knowledge of ISO 9001, AS9100, or other relevant quality standards is a plus.
