About the Role

The Residential Install Lead is responsible for overseeing and executing the installation of residential systems and equipment, ensuring high-quality workmanship and customer satisfaction. This role involves coordinating installation teams, managing project timelines, and maintaining safety standards on-site. The lead will serve as the primary point of contact between customers, installation crews, and management, facilitating clear communication and efficient problem resolution.

Success in this position requires a strong technical background combined with leadership skills to guide and motivate the installation team. Ultimately, the Residential Install Lead ensures that all residential installations are completed accurately, on time, and in compliance with company policies and industry regulations.

Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent. 5+ years proven experience in residential installation or a related technical field. Demonstrated leadership or supervisory experience in a construction or installation environment. Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record. Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and installation manuals.

Preferred Qualifications

Certification in relevant trades such as electrical, HVAC, or telecommunications. Experience with project management software and scheduling tools. Strong knowledge of local building codes and safety regulations. First aid and OSHA safety certifications. Previous experience working in a customer-facing role.

Responsibilities

Lead and supervise residential installation teams to ensure projects are completed efficiently and to company standards. Coordinate daily schedules, assign tasks, and monitor progress to meet project deadlines. Conduct on-site inspections to verify quality and adherence to safety protocols. Communicate effectively with customers to explain installation processes, address concerns, and ensure satisfaction.

Collaborate with management to report project status, resource needs, and any issues encountered during installations. Train and mentor installation technicians to improve skills and maintain high performance. Maintain accurate documentation of installations, including work orders, materials used, and any deviations from plans.

Skills: The Residential Install Lead utilizes technical skills daily to interpret installation plans and ensure proper system setup, which requires attention to detail and problem-solving abilities. Leadership and communication skills are essential for managing teams, delegating tasks, and maintaining clear, respectful interactions with customers and crew members.

Organizational skills help in scheduling installations, tracking progress, and managing resources efficiently to meet deadlines. Safety awareness is critical to enforce compliance with regulations and to create a secure work environment.
