Prep Cook Full Time/Part Time Brentwood, CA Salary Range: $18.50 To $20.00/hour plus tips The Prep Cook at Neighborly is a foundational role in delivering chef-driven food with consistency and care. Prep Cooks support the entire kitchen by ensuring ingredients are prepared correctly, stations are stocked, and food quality standards are met before service begins.

Working under the guidance of the Executive Kitchen Manager (EKM), this role requires precision, teamwork, and a strong sense of urgency. This position is ideal for someone who takes pride in their craft, values structure and standards, and understands that great service starts long before the first order is fired. All hourly team members, including this role, earn tips.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES/QUALIFICATIONS: Prepare a wide variety of ingredients and components - including meats, seafood, poultry, vegetables, sauces, dressings, and marinades - using Neighborly’s established recipes and prep standards. Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently to measure, mix, wash, peel, cut, shred, slice, dice, blend, bread, and portion ingredients according to recipe specifications.

Ensure all food is prepared using proper food handling techniques, maintaining strict adherence to safety and sanitation standards. Take ownership of product quality, ensuring all prep items meet Neighborly’s expectations for freshness, consistency, and presentation. Follow standard portion sizes, cooking methods, and prep procedures to maintain consistency across all dishes and locations.

Stock and maintain sufficient levels of prepared ingredients at line stations to support smooth, uninterrupted service. Portion food products accurately prior to cooking according to recipe specifications and production needs. Maintain a clean, organized, and food-safe prep environment at all times, including participation in opening and closing duties.

Uphold all company food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety standards to protect guests and team members. frequently be asked to slice, dice, mix, blend, bread, and portion a variety of ingredients. Maintains cleanliness and sanitation at all times; participates in opening and closing procedures Solid foundational culinary skills with attention to detail Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-volume kitchen Team-oriented mindset with clear communication Strong organization and multitasking skills Flexible availability Minimum of 1 years experience High-volume restaurant experience preferred Why Neighborly?
