Tank Calibration Technician

Description INTECH Process Automation is seeking a seasoned Tank Calibration Technician to join our Operations & Maintenance (O&M) team. The selected candidate will be responsible for performing and supporting tank gauging, calibration, measurement verification, and documentation activities in accordance with approved procedures and reference standards.

Ensures accurate, traceable measurements and safe execution of calibration work in tank areas.

Key Responsibilities

Perform or assist with tank gauging and calibration/verification activities using approved procedures. Inspect and verify tank level, gauging, measurement, and associated instrumentation . Use approved reference standards, calibration equipment, and measurement tools . Perform required measurements, calculations, comparisons, and verification of tank readings.

Ensure calibration equipment and reference standards have valid calibration status and traceability . Record as-found/as-left readings, measurements, calculations, deviations, and calibration results . Identify and report measurement errors, abnormal readings, instrument defects, and discrepancies . Support troubleshooting, adjustment, replacement, and verification of tank gauging instruments .

Maintain accurate calibration certificates, test sheets, inspection records, and CMMS documentation . Coordinate with Instrumentation, Operations, Maintenance, QA/QC, ICSS, and approved calibration/service providers . Maintain calibration equipment, tools, standards, and work areas in safe and serviceable condition . Follow tank-entry restrictions, gas testing, PTW, LOTO, hazardous-area, HSE, and process safety requirements .

Ensure all measurements and records remain complete, accurate, traceable, and auditable .

Requirements

Technical Diploma, ITI, or relevant trade certificate ; task-specific competency certification where required. Minimum 5 years’ experience in Oil & Gas or comparable industrial facilities, including at least 3 years as a Tank Calibration Technician . Hands-on experience with tank gauging, level measurement, calibration, and verification procedures .

Knowledge of measurement standards, calibration equipment, reference standards, and traceability requirements . Competent in measurement recording, calculations, data verification, and calibration documentation . Experience with tank gauging instruments and associated instrumentation . Ability to identify measurement discrepancies, instrument faults, and calibration deviations .

Experience preparing calibration certificates, test records, as-found/as-left results, and CMMS records . Strong awareness of tank-area hazards, hazardous areas, gas testing, and process safety . Good coordination with Operations, Instrumentation, ICSS, QA/QC, Maintenance, and service providers . Knowledge of PTW, LOTO, HSE, calibration quality requirements, and procedures .
