Job description

Job Details: Job Location: Sandy

  • Sandy, UT, Position Type: Full Time, Salary Range: Undisclosed, Position Summary We are seeking a driven, results-oriented business development professional to lead deposit growth through treasury management solutions. This is a pure deposit gathering role: your primary mission is to prospect, win, and grow low-cost operating and liquidity balances from businesses, nonprofits, municipalities, property managers, professional firms, and other commercial and institutional clients. You will lead with treasury solutions such as collections, disbursements, information reporting, and liquidity management to become your clients' primary operating bank. This role is focused on new deposit production and is not a lending, client service, or support position; ongoing servicing is handled by our Treasury Services and onboarding teams.

Key Responsibilities

Originate and close new commercial deposit relationships through proactive outbound prospecting, networking, centers of influence, and referrals, with an emphasis on primary operating accounts. Meet or exceed quarterly and annual goals for net new deposits, new funded relationships, and treasury service attachment. Conduct needs-based discovery with prospects and clients, reviewing cash flow, banking activity, and account analysis statements to identify deposit and treasury opportunities.

Lead with treasury management solutions (ACH, wires, remote deposit capture, lockbox, positive pay, sweeps, and merchant services) to win operating balances and deepen deposit relationships. Prepare and present proposals, pricing, and RFP responses for treasury and deposit services; negotiate within approved pricing authority and escalate exceptions.

Grow deposits within the existing client base by identifying balances held at other institutions and consolidating them into the Bank, including money market, savings, ICS/reciprocal, and CD solutions. Partner with Business Development Officers, Loan Officers, and Retail Banking Managers to secure the deposit relationship on every new and existing lending relationship and to support branch-level deposit campaigns.

Hand off won clients to the onboarding and Treasury Services teams and remain accountable for the relationship through account funding and the first 90 days, ensuring balances move as committed. Monitor deposit balances, retention, and attrition within your portfolio, and proactively engage clients at risk of rate-shopping or outflow.

Maintain accurate pipeline, activity, and client interaction records in the CRM and provide regular pipeline and forecast updates to leadership. Track market deposit pricing, competitor offerings, and client feedback, and share insights with leadership to inform pricing and product strategy. Represent the Bank in the community through industry associations, civic organizations, and networking events.

Maintain up-to-date knowledge of deposit and treasury products, pricing guidelines, and compliance requirements, including BSA/AML and KYC. Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Qualifications Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in treasury management sales, commercial or business banking, or deposit-focused relationship banking, with a documented track record of meeting or exceeding deposit growth goals. Proven ability to originate new business through outbound prospecting and consultative selling, from first contact through close.

Working knowledge of treasury and cash management products, procedures, and services, as well as accounting, financial analysis, and account analysis. Ability to read financial statements and banking activity to identify deposit and treasury opportunities. Experience working with CRM systems and managing a sales pipeline effectively.

Strong negotiation, presentation, interpersonal, and communication skills, both verbal and written. Self-motivated and goal-oriented, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively. Working knowledge of deposit regulations and compliance requirements, including BSA/AML. Proficient in Microsoft Office and basic computer skills.

Requires High School diploma, GED or equivalent education and experience in banking, bank operations and products, accounting, or sales. A combination of education and experience may meet job requirements. Valid driver's license and reliable transportation for client visits.

Preferred Skills

Bachelor's degree in business, finance, accounting, or a related field. Certified Treasury Professional (CTP), Accredited ACH Professional (AAP), or similar treasury certification. Existing network of business owners, CPAs, attorneys, and other centers of influence in the Bank's markets. Experience with public funds, ICS/reciprocal deposits, and collateralized deposit programs.

Experience winning deposits in verticals such as property management, HOAs, title and escrow, healthcare, professional services, nonprofits, and municipalities. Familiarity with deposit pricing, relationship profitability, and rate-sensitivity analysis. Strong referral-generation and cross-selling skills. Ability to navigate sensitive client situations with professionalism and discretion.
