Job Title: Middle School Play

• Technical Director Overall Purpose: To design the physical set, manage lights and sound, manage student technicians in the middle school play production, fostering a positive and educational experience for students involved. Specific Duties and Responsibilities: Pre-Production: Assign roles and responsibilities to student technicians and any supporting staff/volunteers. Meet with director to discuss design concept prior to auditions in December Rehearsals: Manage student technicians during crew calls and build days. Conduct trials for sound and light and educate student technicians. Provide constructive feedback and guidance to student technicians. Volunteer Organization: Coordinate with the Play Director to schedule "Build Days." Determine how parents can volunteer with set design, sound, and lighting. Host and manage parent volunteers at "Build Days." Technical Aspects: Oversee set design and construction. Manage props, lighting, and sound. Coordinate with student technicians. Coordinate with the Play Director to purchase materials for the set design. Give any receipts to the Play Director for reimbursement. Coordinate with the Auditorium and Prop Room Manager. Production Management: Organize and supervise student technicians during performances. Wrap Up: Support clean-up and tear down of set. Start Date: Rehearsals and student crew calls begin January 4, 2027 Qualifications and Experience: HS Diploma Required. Prior experience working in theatre and with technical equipment required. Experience working with middle school students preferred. Must pass background check. Employment Dates: January 4th to February 21st (3-10 hours per week), more hours as we get closer to show. With one meeting in mid-December. Performance Dates: February 19-21, 2027 Salary: $1845 stipend Apply: Online at isd282.org/careers
