Grounds Crew Worker I

Primary Purpose: To help maintain the physical school plant in a condition of operating excellence so that full educational use of it may be made at all times.

Qualifications

Qualifications/Training/License: Must be 18 years of age or older Must be insurable to drive district vehicles Candidate must have satisfactory outcome of fingerprinting check Special Knowledge/Skills: Be able to operate landscaping equipment Ability to follow instructions Good oral and written communication skills Have basic knowledge of maintaining grounds related equipment and vehicles Knowledge of safety procedures Experience: Experience in grounds keeping Crew working experience Major Responsibilities and Duties: Understand and follow oral and written instructions.

Responsible for using equipment properly. Responsible for maintaining equipment. Keep supervisor abreast of needed repairs, supplies, and equipment needed. Ability to complete tasks in a timely manner. Ability to communicate and work with co-workers and administration in congenial manner. Must maintain proper district attire.

Work well under pressure. Positive attitude toward district policy. Work in moving furniture and materials in School District as needed. Daily attendance and punctuality are essential functions of the job. Perform other duties as assigned. Supervisory Responsibilities: None. Mental Demands/Physical Demands/Environmental Factors: Tools/Equipment Used: Lawnmower, weed eater, tractor, bobcat, chainsaw, truck, shovel, hoe, water hoses, sprinklers, shears, trimmer, gas container, edger, gas, oil, fuels, and chemicals Posture: Long periods of standing, bending, stooping, climbing, walking, driving Motion: Repetitive hand motions Lifting: Occasional light lifting and carrying (up to 50+ lbs.)
