Mechanical Technician I

Job Title: Mechanical Technician I (may be a higher role depending on experience) Compensation: $32.00/hr (depending on experience, rate may vary) + Agency Vehicle Location: Carlsbad, NM 88220 Schedule: 5/2 schedule with participation in an on-call rotation; 8 hrs/day, 40 hrs/week with potential OT Scope Technicians are assigned to carry out maintenance work.

This can either be an Exxon. Mobil (XOM) employee or a Contractor resource. Typically reports to a supervisor. The manager is looking for a mechanic with experience in one or more of the following areas: Centrifugal pumps and gear pumps LACTs and PDP pumps (triplex/quintuplex) Vapor recovery units (screw compression) Gas lift compression (reciprocating electric-drive units) Instrument air systems and dryers Candidates are not expected to have experience in all of these areas.

Those with a solid background in some of these disciplines and a willingness to learn will be provided additional training. Tasks and Responsibilities Actively participate in the use of all on-the-job safety tools Review job packs Identify any safety issues associated with the job and ensure removal/mitigation prior to working Execute work as planned Record technical history as required by workgroup (Global Reliability Tool (GRT), data sheet, etc.)

Provide feedback on job pack improvements to Execution FLS Request permits and notify Supervisor if permit cannot be issued within 30 minutes of requested time Skills and Qualifications Discipline-appropriate certification(s) if applicable, or equivalent professional experience Effective communication skills; ability to clearly and concisely describe conditions in the field and recommend remediation steps Team player; exhibits effective teamwork when working with persons over whom the person may have no direct authority, and willingness to assist others Ability to adapt to tight deadlines, heavy workloads, and frequent changes in priorities Proficient in Microsoft Office suite of software programs
