Director of Early Childhood

The Early Childhood Director oversees and supports early childhood programs, including Head Start, Pre-K, and related grant-funded initiatives.

Responsibilities include

evaluating teachers, coordinating professional development, monitoring program implementation and compliance, managing grants and budgets in collaboration with district departments, and ensuring programs meet federal, state, and district requirements. The director also supports recruitment, hiring, staff development, enrollment, reporting, and continuous improvement to promote high-quality early childhood education.

Requirements

Master's Degree or higher Valid Louisiana teaching certificate with Parish/City School Supervisor of Instruction or Educational Leadership Endorsement Minimum of 5 years teaching experience Knowledge of early childhood development (birth - 5 years old) Experience with data collection, analysis, and reporting requirements Early Childhood, Head Start, and Pre-K programs Trained in Science of Reading preferred School/District Leadership and Early Childhood Experience preferred Attachment(s): Job Description
