JOB SUMMARY
The Environmental Services Floor Technician is responsible for maintaining the facility in a clean, sanitary and safe condition; must be able to perform the assigned duties and functions in accordance with the standard policy and procedures of the Environmental Services Department and in accordance with the hospital objectives.
The EVS attendant must maintain good public relations while maintaining patient/customer confidentiality and satisfaction and exhibit Community Cares standards. BASIC KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES: Education / License / Certification: High school graduate or GED preferred Experience / Skills: Prior experience in healthcare or commercial housekeeping preferred Experience in operating all types of electric and battery-operated floor care equipment preferred JOB RESPONSIBILITIES Remove, handle, transport bio-medical waste, hazardous waste, clean linen soiled linen and regular waste Clean and disinfect patient rooms, restrooms, ancillary areas, offices and public areas to include sterile areas, isolation rooms Dust mop and wet mop floors; vacuum carpeted areas Stock supplies to include paper towels, toilet paper, hand soap, hand sanitizer, sharp boxes, and gloves Run and maintain floor care equipment within scope Move furniture to include patient beds and mattresses Assure all set ups are completed in a timely manner and in the appropriate style Strips, scrubs, re-coats and buffs hard surface floors using battery and electrical equipment Bonnet and extract carpeted floors Count par levels for clean linen and deliver clean linen All other duties as assigned
