Full Time Entry-Level Prototype Mechanics (15)

Performance Driven Workforce (PDW) is now hiring Full-time Entry-level Prototype Mechanics to support an automotive Tier 1 supplier in Allen Park, MI. We are seeking motivated candidates to join our growing team who have a minimum of 1-year hands-on automotive mechanic experience and are ready to apply their skills to experimental prototype vehicles and retrofits.

Shifts: AM day shift: 6:45 AM - 3:30 PM (Monday – Friday, plus overtime as needed) PM night shift: 3:30 PM - 12:00 AM (Monday – Friday, plus overtime as needed) Responsibilities: Diagnose, repair, and maintain prototype vehicles Perform a variety of mechanical, electrical, and diagnostic tasks Keep shop equipment operating by following operating instructions, troubleshooting breakdowns, performing preventive maintenance and calling for repairs Work closely with engineers and test teams to troubleshoot issues Maintain accurate repair and service documentation Ensure a safe and organized work environment Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent required Must be 18 years of age or older Must have a minimum of 1-year automotive repair experience in a shop environment including but not limited to removing the dashboard and replacing airbags, engine, drivetrain, suspension, brakes, tires, struts, etc.

Must have automotive mechanic ability to operate shop equipment, (e.g., vehicle hoist, lifts, tire machine, diagnostic tools, OBD-ll scanner, digital multimeter, strut compressor, etc.) Must have own tools with a rolling lockable toolbox, (if not, PDW offers a toolbox program) Ability to read and follow technical instructions, schematics, and written procedures Strong work ethic and attention to detail Preferred Qualifications: Valid driver’s license and good driving record ASE certifications Ford experience Retirees and veterans are welcome.
