Job description

Join a team that values your ambition and empowers your growth At Corient, we help high- and ultra-high-net-worth individuals and families to enjoy a full life, while enabling them to preserve their wealth for future generations, and provide for the people, causes and communities they care about. We focus on exceeding expectations, simplifying lives, and establishing legacies that last for generations.

We are always looking for talented and motivated individuals to join our team. If you want to work for a company that values your contributions and supports your growth, we would like to meet you.

About the Role

We’re bringing acquisition valuation work in-house and are looking for an analytical, detail-oriented professional to support purchase price allocation (PPA), valuation, and acquisition accounting across a growing M&A pipeline. This is a hands-on, valuation-focused individual contributor role that will work closely with the M&A and accounting teams throughout the acquisition process.

The position is well suited to someone who enjoys applying valuation expertise across a variety of transactions and is interested in building deeper expertise in valuation and acquisition accounting over the long term. This is not an investment banking or general corporate finance position. The role is specifically focused on the valuation and accounting work associated with completed acquisitions.

Location : New York, NY or Miami, FL What You'll Do

  • Prepare purchase price allocation (PPA) analyses, schedules, and supporting documentation for acquisitions.
  • Review purchase agreements and organize key transaction information, including consideration and other relevant deal terms.
  • Build, maintain, and run valuation models to assess acquired intangible assets and other valuation-related items.
  • Partner closely with the M&A team to gather transaction details and with the accounting team to support the appropriate accounting treatment.
  • Prepare valuation analyses and documentation for review by accounting leadership and incorporate feedback as needed.
  • Help manage the valuation process across multiple acquisitions simultaneously, adapting the approach to the specific circumstances and complexities of each transaction. What We’re Looking For
  • Ideally 4+ years of relevant professional experience, although we are open to strong candidates with somewhat more or less experience.
  • Experience or exposure to valuation, ideally at least one year, or closely related financial analysis experience.
  • A background in accounting, finance, valuation, or a related field, with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong financial modeling skills and proficiency with Excel.
  • A genuine interest in developing deeper expertise in valuation and acquisition accounting as a long-term area of focus.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple transactions and priorities in a fast-paced acquisition environment. Helpful, but Not Required
  • Experience with purchase price accounting or purchase price allocations (PPA).
  • Familiarity with ASC 805 and business combination accounting.
  • Public accounting or Big Four experience.
  • In-house valuation or transaction-related experience.
  • Familiarity with US GAAP, IFRS, or related financial reporting requirements. Candidates are not expected to have expertise in every applicable accounting standard, and relevant technical knowledge can be further developed on the job. **Depending on experience, the position may be titled Senior Associate or Valuation Manager.
