Air quality modeler

Your mission You will join the ARIANET team, and you will be involved in atmospheric modelling, concerning mainly dispersion, chemical transformation and ground deposition of pollutants at regional and urban scales. You will mainly use a simulation system including meteorological and emission models and based on FARM (Flexible Air Quality Regional Model) chemical-transport model, developed by ARIANET in collaboration with national and international research centers and with a significant user base.

You will contribute to the multiple applications of the system, typically: operational forecast of ambient air quality, yearly air quality assessments, reconstruction of past events, estimation of sources contributions, scenario studies in support of policy planning and impact assessment studies. These activities will also include drafting the relevant technical reports and presenting the results to clients, mostly public but also private.

You will progressively participate in the development of the models’ new features, documenting them. You will also be able to actively participate in research activities carried out within European projects and to contribute to the drafting of scientific publications.
