You will have the autonomy to use your expertise, the responsibility to build strong systems, and the expectation that your department operates with consistency and discipline.

You’ll probably love this role if you like to: Know exactly what is happening with your residents, not just what the chart says Solve problems thoroughly instead of applying temporary fixes Create systems that make excellent care repeatable Set clear clinical standards and hold people to them Dig into documentation, medication practices, assessments, and care plans until the details are right Teach people the why, not simply tell them what to do Work independently and use your professional judgment Identify risk before it becomes an incident Improve processes when the existing process does not make sense Be respected for your expertise and trusted to own your department What You’ll Own As Director of Wellness, you are the clinical leader of North.

The expectation is that you understand why they happened and strengthen the system so they are less likely to happen again. Build a Team That Can Execute You should not have to personally solve every problem forever.
