Dermatology Medical Assistant

West Bloomfield Dermatology and Mohs Surgery is seeking a medical assistant for our busy practice. We are looking for someone friendly, knowledgeable, and with great interpersonal skills. Experience as a medical assistant in Dermatology is REQUIRED and experience in Mohs surgery is an added bonus! Experience with Modernizing Medicine/EMA is preferred.

Primary responsibilities will include supporting doctors and patients through a variety of tasks related to patient care management, organization, and communication.

Responsibilities

Room/interview patients and obtain and record an accurate history. Scribing for the physician in the room. Assisting the physician with procedures such as biopsies, excisions, electrodessication and curettage, I&D. Review and educate patients on biopsy results, laboratory test results, treatment plans, and medications per physician order.

Cleaning and stocking exam rooms accordingly. Provide wound care and follow up directions to patients after treatments. Writing prescriptions for patients and e-scribing per physician order. Complete pathology requisitions and maintain a pathology log for biopsies performed.
