Business Unit Manager

Description Summary/Objective: The Business Unit Manager must focus on customers' expectations, prevent problems, and strive for continuous improvement resulting in improved results for themselves, customers, and other employees. The ideal candidate will have experience leading others to operational excellence while focusing on managing and optimizing the overall operations of the Portage plant.

Acts as a champion for change. Holds self and others accountable for measurable and cost-effective results; follows through on commitments; can be counted upon to successfully execute goals. There is significant value for knowledge and experience in commercial sales, fabrication, profiling, flat and hot roll metals, and galvanized materials.

A candidate with an entrepreneurial mindset and some knowledge in basic metallurgy, in addition to previous P&L responsibility, is preferred.

1. Responsible for assisting/participating in contractual negotiations with customers and suppliers.
2. Responsible for overseeing operations.
3. Candidate should have operational management experience.
4. Responsible for inventory management and forecasts.
5. Responsible for pricing policy, price maintenance, price schedules, evaluation, and approval of off-list prices.
6. Responsible for sales/margin/profit growth.
7. Responsible for managing, reporting, and improving key performance metrics including -Safety, Inventory, Quality, Cost, Productivity

9. Responsible for developing and guiding new product programs to ensure sustained profit growth within the business unit.
10. Responsible for contributing to the corporate strategic growth plan via annual business audits, evaluations and submission of multiyear business plans.
