Your Role
as a Per Diem OT As an Occupational Therapist with TRU Healthcare, you'll help patients regain the skills, confidence, and independence they need to safely navigate everyday life in their own homes. Provide skilled occupational therapy services in patients' homes based on individualized treatment plans. Evaluate patients' functional abilities and develop treatment strategies focused on improving independence with activities of daily living (ADLs) and instrumental activities of daily living (IADLs).
Address functional limitations related to strength, coordination, balance, cognition, mobility, and other areas affecting daily life. Recommend and educate patients on adaptive equipment, compensatory strategies, and techniques to improve safety and independence. Assess home environments and provide recommendations for fall prevention, accessibility, and safe performance of daily activities.
Educate patients and caregivers on home exercise programs, safety strategies, and techniques to support continued progress between visits. Monitor patient progress, update treatment approaches as needed, and communicate changes with the interdisciplinary care team. Complete accurate and timely clinical documentation.
What You'll Bring
Current, valid Minnesota Occupational Therapist license . CPR/BLS certification. Previous home health experience preferred. Strong clinical, communication, and organizational skills. Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with the interdisciplinary care team. Ability to travel within Duluth and surrounding areas.
Reliable transportation and willingness to travel between patient visits. Mileage reimbursement provided. A genuine desire to help patients live more safely and independently.
