Lunchroom Support Aide

Position Purpose Under the direct supervision of the building principal, to provide daily support of students in the lunchroom. May be requested to assist recess duties; assist teachers as assigned, provide supervision for students. Essential Job Functions

• Wipe down tables and assist with removal of garbage cans
• Overseeing safety and cleanliness in the lunchroom/cafeteria space * Supervise students during their lunch time and monitor behaviors Additional Duties:

• Standard cafeteria tables and garbage cans * Standard wet rags and cleaning sprays Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
• Ability to work in a fast paced environment.
• Ability to perform physical activities without difficulty.
• Ability to work with diverse groups of individuals.
• Ability to maintain cleanliness of the lunch tables and support student cleaners.
• Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with students, staff and others contacted in the course of work.
• Ability to wipe down tables quickly and efficiently.
• Effective verbal communication skills. Spanish language abilities appreciated, but not required. Working Environment

• Ability to work outdoors during outdoor student activities or recess.

Qualifications

Any combination of education and experience providing the required skill and knowledge for successful performance would be qualifying. Typical qualifications would be equivalent to:

• High School diploma or equivalent.
