Collections Specialist II- Muncy

Journey Bank is seeking a full-time Collections Specialist II in our Muncy Office. Journey Bank is a strong, independent, community bank with over $1 Billion in assets, 22 locations, and 275 employees headquartered in Bloomsburg PA. As part of the Collections Team, this position reports to the Loan Administration Officer.

Requirements

The selected candidate must have the following skills:

• Associate's Degree in Business or a related field and have specialized collection education/training.
• A minimum of three (3) years' related experience normally required.
• Proficient reading, writing, grammar, and math skills: proficient interpersonal relations and communicative skills; thorough knowledge of collection procedures and regulations affecting the collection function; working knowledge of purchasing and inventory control systems and procedures; moderate PC skills; ability to lift items weighing 50 lbs. or less; visual and auditory skills; valid driver's license.

General Responsibilities: Responsible for performing various duties to support the collections department in order to effectively collect past-due loans and to maximize the recovery of financial resources related to problem loan accounts; achieving goals as established in the department's annual operating plan; coordinating work within the department, as well as with other departments; complying with operating policies and procedures established for the collection function; communicating with appropriate personnel; responding to inquiries or requests for information; maintaining appropriate records and providing assigned reports.

Essential Duties

1. Performs collection and administrative duties to support the collections function including: receiving and reviewing listings of all assigned deliquent loans; communicating with deliquent borrowers in attempt to obtain late payments; utilizing methods of resource recovery under terms of loan contract; documenting all collection actions taken; establish and maintain records relating to delinquent loan accounts; review Bank records and transactions to resolve misapplied payments; locate customers with whom the Bank has lost contact; notify customer of his/her rights and amount due; prepare reports for management; maintain control over delinquencies; coordinate the collection of past due accounts with Managers and Officers; adhere to regulatory guidelines.
2. Acheive goals assigned as part of department's annual operating plan.
3. Abide by and cooperate with current laws and organizational policies and procedures in support of risk management and overall safety and soundness of the Bank's compliance with all regulatory requirements.
4. Coordinate specific work tasks with other personnel within the department as well with other departments to ensure smooth and efficient flow of information.
5. Communicate with management and personnel in order to integrate goals and activities.
6. Respond to inquiries relating to his/her particular area, or requests from other Bank personnel, customers, etc., within given time frames and withing established policy.
7. Maintain appropriate records and provide reports.
