Job description
Job Description Summary The Image Quality Intern is an educational opportunity for an engineering student to work alongside senior engineers in the development of image quality design solutions for GE Health. Care – Surgery imaging products. This role will be responsible for individual and team assignments and will work with cross-functional teams to develop and evaluate complex surgical imaging systems and deliver best-in-class image quality.
Job Description Essential Responsibilities Duties include (but are not limited to): Work in a small team to refine and tune image processing algorithms to improve image contrast, clarity, and detail. Participate in cadaver and/or live animal imaging labs to collect data for image processing algorithm evaluation. Survey image quality scientists and clinical imaging specialists to gather feedback on image results.
Document design with technical rigor. Present image quality design results to team management. Assist in specification, design, verification, and validation of system features and sub-systems relating to X-ray exposure control, image processing, and visualization. Actively seek mentoring to learn and solve problems. Qualifications/Requirements Pursuing a degree in Electrical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, Life Sciences, or closely related discipline Familiarity with and interest in Python programming Sophomore year minimum GPA: 3.
