Join StandardAero as a Machinist and become part of a team dedicated to excellence in aerospace maintenance, repair and overhaul. Shift Requirement: Must be flexible to support multiple shifts as needed. No overnight shifts.
Key Responsibilities
Operate conventional machines to machine components to exact specifications. Read and interpret blueprints, templates, and specification manuals to plan machining operations. Calculate dimensions and tolerances, lay out workpieces, and verify accuracy using precision tools such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges. Troubleshoot and adjust equipment to ensure optimal performance.
Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and cross-train in complementary skills to support production requirements. Follow all safety protocols and report any unsafe conditions or practices immediately. Adhere to company policies, including proactive risk management and Just Culture principles.
Requirements
Minimum of two years of hands-on experience in manual machining. High mechanical aptitude with strong precision and accuracy. Proficient in blueprint reading and interpreting technical specifications. Skilled in using precision measuring instruments and hand tools. Strong mathematical and problem-solving abilities. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds unassisted.
Regularly required to stand for extended periods.
Preferred Qualifications
Completion of a recognized machinist apprenticeship program or equivalent education and training. Red Seal Machinist certification is preferred. Familiarity with manufacturing processes, metallurgy, and production management systems.
