Director Global Procurement Packaging (all genders)
Job description
Your Tasks Your Mission Every NIVEA can, every Eucerin bottle, every cap, tube and label in our products worldwide passes through the hands of your team. As Director Global Procurement Packaging you own one of Beiersdorf's largest spend areas – approx. €800 million across Europe, the Americas and Asia – with a team of 20 packaging professionals.
You shape technology and cost strategy for more than 10 packaging categories, you negotiate with the leading packaging suppliers in the world, and you sit at the table where Beiersdorf's sustainability and innovation agenda is decided. What you will own
- The strategy: Full accountability for the global Packaging Procurement strategy and the performance of the entire spend – enabling our Win with Care and #BEAT agenda.
- The value: Driving cost out of our packaging system and value into our products – value engineering, tendering, supplier development and a project pipeline that directly impacts company EBIT.
- The transformation: Steering the sustainable transformation of our packaging assortment (recycled plastics, aluminum, design-to-sustainability) together with R&D, Operations and the brands.
- Resilience: Improving supply security in a volatile world – Reducing single-sources, and developing supplier relationships strong enough to carry us through supply crisis.
- The future: Pushing standardization, digitalization and automation of how we buy – and challenging what our suppliers believe is possible.
- The team: Leading, developing and inspiring a high-performing global team.
Your Profile
What you bring
- A master's degree in business, supply chain, engineering or another relevant field – and several years of leadership experience in a relevant industry.
- Direct material procurement expertise (packaging, raws or 3PM) is a strong plus – genuine curiosity for technology and manufacturing is a must: this role lives in supplier plants, not only in meeting rooms.
- Proven leadership: you build teams, develop talent, and perform in a fast-paced, complex environment.
- Stakeholder craft: you connect and align from shopfloor to Board, internally and externally.
- Strategic drive: you spot opportunities before they are obvious – and act on them.
- Fluent English; other languages are a plus. Why this role Few positions combine this much commercial weight, technical depth and enterprise visibility. You manage a multi-million-Euro system, you work with iconic products, and you shape how one of the world's great consumer brands packages its future. The role reports to the Director Global Procurement Directs. At Beiersdorf, we want to help people feel good about their skin – and our commitment goes far beyond caring for skin. For 140 years, we have developed innovative skin and body care products for well-known brands such as NIVEA, Eucerin, La Prairie, Hansaplast, and Labello. We act according to our purpose, WE CARE BEYOND SKIN, and take responsibility for our consumers, our employees, the environment and society. Behind every brand, every product and every accomplishment are our more than 20,000 employees. It is for them that we live an inclusive culture of respect and trust that is strongly aligned with our values – CARE, COURAGE, SIMPLICITY and TRUST. We also embrace diversity by valuing the uniqueness of each individual and being committed to equal opportunities for all.
