Supply Chain Strategist

Responsibilities

Design, implement, and administer plans, initiatives and programs to improve supply chain efficiency, effectiveness, inventory levels, and alignment with organizational business objectives. Collect, analyze, and mine complex data to identify trends, inefficiencies, risks, and opportunities for improvement; guide data collection or acquisition strategies when needed to improve the validity of analyses.

Evaluate demand patterns, inventory strategies, and planning assumptions to optimize inventory investment, service levels, and business responsiveness. Monitor forecasting programs to help optimize scheduling and floor space and reduce missed shipments. Work closely with procurement, logistics, production, and other departments to align supply chain activities with business goals and customer requirements.

Identify opportunities to streamline processes, improve system utilization, and increase automation. Coordinate support for new ventures and acquisitions to help ensure materials, capacity, and customer requirements are brought on-line with standard Chem-Trend practices.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations, Engineering, Materials Science, Mining, or a related field required 1-3 years of experience in supply chain, production planning, materials planning, logistics, or a related manufacturing environment Strong understanding of production scheduling, customer delivery requirements, and supplier coordination Working knowledge of batch processing of chemical specialty products and inventory control required.
