We are a vibrant, growing, and fast-paced full-service law firm seeking an experienced Litigation Paralegal to provide comprehensive support to attorneys handling a broad range of complex litigation matters.

Position Summary

The Litigation Paralegal will provide substantive case management and litigation support to partners and associates throughout all phases of litigation, from case inception through discovery, motion practice, trial preparation, and resolution. The ideal candidate will be highly organized, proactive, detail-oriented, and experienced in managing multiple matters, court deadlines, filings, discovery materials, and document-intensive cases in a fast-paced legal environment.

Key Responsibilities

Provide comprehensive litigation and case management support to partners and associates handling complex matters. Assist with all phases of litigation, including case inception, discovery, motion practice, hearings, trial preparation, and post-trial matters. Prepare, format, proofread, organize, and maintain pleadings, motions, affidavits, affirmations, notices, correspondence, discovery materials, and other legal documents.

Assist with electronic filing of documents in state and federal courts, including NYSCEF and PACER/ECF, as applicable. Monitor court dockets, filing requirements, court rules, and litigation deadlines. Maintain and manage litigation calendars, including court appearances, filing deadlines, depositions, hearings, conferences, and other time-sensitive dates.

Assist with discovery, including document collection, review, organization, production, and maintenance of discovery databases and files. Prepare and organize responses to discovery demands, interrogatories, requests for production, notices to admit, and other discovery requests. Coordinate depositions, including scheduling, preparation of exhibits, compilation of materials, and communication with court reporters, witnesses, experts, and counsel.

Assist with the preparation and service of subpoenas, notices, authorizations, and other litigation-related documents. Organize and maintain case files, pleadings, discovery materials, exhibits, deposition transcripts, expert materials, and correspondence. Assist attorneys with document production, including Bates labeling, indexing, redaction, scanning, copying, and electronic file organization.

Prepare chronologies, document summaries, exhibit lists, witness files, and other case-related materials. Assist with trial and hearing preparation, including organizing exhibits, trial binders, witness materials, demonstratives, and attorney work product. Coordinate with clients, opposing counsel, courts, experts, vendors, and other outside professionals as necessary.

Conduct factual and procedural research as requested by attorneys. Request conflict checks, assist with opening new matters, and maintain accurate client and matter information. Enter attorney time and assist with administrative and billing-related tasks as necessary. Provide additional litigation, administrative, and project support to attorneys and department staff as needed.

Qualifications

& Skills Minimum of 10+ years of litigation paralegal experience , preferably within a law firm environment. Significant experience supporting attorneys throughout all phases of litigation. Strong familiarity with court procedures, filing requirements, litigation deadlines, and discovery practices. Experience with NYSCEF and federal PACER/ECF filing systems strongly preferred.

Experience preparing and organizing pleadings, discovery materials, deposition exhibits, trial materials, and document productions. Strong understanding of legal terminology, litigation procedures, confidentiality requirements, and document management. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Exceptional organizational and time-management abilities, with the ability to manage multiple attorneys, cases, deadlines, and competing priorities.

Strong proofreading, formatting, and document preparation skills. Proactive, dependable, resourceful, and detail-oriented. Ability to anticipate attorney and case needs and independently follow matters through completion. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook. Experience with document management, case management, and litigation support platforms preferred.

Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with attorneys and staff at all levels. Professional demeanor and strong interpersonal skills when communicating with clients, courts, opposing counsel, experts, vendors, and other professionals. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and effectively manage time-sensitive and complex litigation matters.

Bachelor's degree, paralegal certificate, or equivalent professional experience preferred. Salary Range: $60,000–$80,000, commensurate with experience Benefits: 401(k), Medical, Dental, Life Insurance, PTO, and more.
