Job description

Accident and Emergency Medicine Academic Unit Executive Officer II The appointee will be responsible for providing comprehensive administrative support for the academic, personnel, financial and operational functions of the Unit. Duties include (a) providing executive support to the Director and academic staff; (b) overseeing office administration, operational management and programme-related administrative matters; (c) co-ordinating human resources and personnel-related matters; (d) facilitating local and international institutional collaborations and academic activities; (e) managing budgets, financial and fund administration for academic, educational and research activities; (f) supporting the administration of research grants and projects; (g) supervising junior staff and assisting in daily office administration; and (h) undertaking other duties as assigned by the Unit Head or his delegates.

Applicants should have (i) a good Bachelor’s degree from a recognised university; (ii) fulfilled the language requirements set out on the website: https://www.hro.cuhk.edu.hk/en-gb/languageforeo ; (iii) at least 5 years’ post-qualification administrative or executive experience, preferably in academic administration and/or programme administration at tertiary institutions; (iv) an excellent command of both written and spoken English and Chinese (including Putonghua); (v) strong problem-solving and analytical skills, good project execution capability, as well as excellent interpersonal and communication skills; (vi) the ability to multitask, work independently, and accomplish tasks effectively; (vii) a diligent and self-motivated work manner, as well as a strong sense of responsibility; and (viii) proficiency in computer applications, such as MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

Shortlisted candidates will be invited to sit for a written test. Appointment will initially be made on a 2-year contract, renewable subject to good performance and mutual agreement.
