Cook 3 – Entry-Level Catering Kitchen

Start or grow your culinary career with TGIS Catering! We are hiring an entry-level Cook 3 to support food preparation and production at our main kitchen in Long Beach. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys cooking, follows instructions carefully, and wants to learn how a professional catering kitchen prepares food for events of different sizes.

What You’ll Do  Wash, peel, cut, and portion ingredients according to instructions.  Assist with basic cooking, recipe preparation, and event food production under the chef’s direction.  Follow recipes, portion standards, and daily preparation lists.  Help package, label, and organize food for scheduled events.  Follow food safety procedures, including proper storage, temperature control, sanitation, and hair coverings.

 Keep workstations, tools, and equipment clean and organized.  Communicate when supplies are low or when you need help completing an assignment.  Support other kitchen team members as production needs change. What We’re Looking For  An interest in cooking and a willingness to learn.  Reliability, punctuality, and a positive approach to teamwork.

 Ability to follow instructions and accept feedback.  Attention to cleanliness, food quality, and detail.  Ability to work safely in a busy kitchen and perform essential duties, with reasonable accommodation as needed.  Previous kitchen experience or culinary training is helpful but not required. Schedule and Availability The regular shift is 7:00 AM–3:30 PM .

Employees generally have two days off per week , but those days vary based on business needs and may not be consecutive. Weekend and holiday availability is required when scheduled. During peak weeks, overtime or additional workdays may be requested based on event volume. Applicable overtime will be paid.
