Digby Wells Environmental, a leading service provider to the resources industry, is looking for an Environmental Intern to join our dynamic and fast-growing team in Tanzania, Dar Es Salaam. This structured 12-month graduate programme is designed to provide practical, hands-on experience in environmental consulting. You will gain exposure to a wide range of projects while developing core technical, project management, and client engagement skills.

At Digby Wells, we are committed to developing future environmental leaders by providing: Meaningful work – Contribute to projects that make a real impact in the resources sector Hands-on learning – Work alongside experienced professionals on real client projects Structured development – Gain exposure across multiple disciplines within environmental consulting Growth opportunities – Build technical, business, and interpersonal skills to launch your career Collaborative culture – Be part of a supportive, purpose-driven team Global exposure – Opportunity to work on projects across Africa and internationally Key Responsibilities The Environmental Intern will support the team in: Assisting with the project management and administration of environmental legislative processes Maintaining awareness of applicable environmental legislation and its impact on projects Supporting the delivery of high-quality services and outputs Participating in marketing initiatives and supporting new business development You will also gain exposure to and assist with: Environmental Impact Assessments (EIAs) in line with relevant legislation Environmental permitting and mining applications Stakeholder engagement and consultation processes Collaboration with multidisciplinary specialists Project budgeting and scheduling Liaising with clients and regulatory authorities Compiling and writing technical reports for clients and authorities In addition, you will: Perform general day-to-day office administration Assist with additional tasks as required within your field of expertise Requirements Degree in Environmental Science or a related field NEMC registration would be advantageous Skills and Competencies Foundational knowledge of environmental management and legislation Understanding of basic financial and project management principles Strong report writing ability Excellent verbal and written communication skills High attention to detail and strong organisational skills Ability to manage time effectively and meet deadlines Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Customer-focused mindset Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks simultaneously Willingness to travel internationally Ability to build and maintain professional relationships
