Field Service Representative
Job description
A Snapshot of Your Day As a Field Service Representative (FSR) – Centrifugal Compressor, you will act as Siemens Energy's technical representative at customer sites, providing field service support for centrifugal gas compressors and associated packages. You will be responsible for preventive maintenance, equipment inspections, troubleshooting, call-out services, and commissioning support.
Working independently and in accordance with company procedures, you will identify technical issues, develop effective solutions, and ensure safe, reliable, and efficient equipment operation while maintaining high standards of service quality and customer satisfaction. How You'll Make an Impact Field Service & Maintenance Perform and support preventive maintenance and inspection activities on centrifugal gas compressors and associated equipment.
Provide technical assistance during commissioning, installation, and maintenance activities. Ensure all field service activities are carried out in accordance with Siemens Energy procedures, manufacturer recommendations, and industry best practices. Monitor maintenance services and installation support activities to ensure safe and effective execution.
Support major maintenance interventions, ensuring activities are completed according to schedule and within applicable commercial orders. Assist Operations and Maintenance teams with technical activities when additional support is required. Troubleshooting & Equipment Monitoring Diagnose and resolve technical problems related to centrifugal compressors and associated mechanical and electrical systems.
Monitor equipment condition and identify abnormal sounds, vibrations, and potential operational or safety issues. Take appropriate corrective actions to prevent equipment damage, production losses, and safety incidents. Apply sound technical judgment to resolve problems efficiently and with minimal supervision. Perform minor mechanical and electrical repairs and adjustments as required.
Interpret technical drawings, equipment manuals, and maintenance documentation to support troubleshooting and repair activities. Maintenance Planning & Coordination Support short- and medium-term planning of personnel, materials, and resources required for maintenance and commissioning activities. Coordinate with Operations teams to ensure equipment is released in a timely manner for maintenance.
Monitor pending maintenance activities and identify resource requirements. Ensure the availability of necessary spare parts, tools, and materials. Prepare and submit material requisitions when required. Coordinate operational adjustments to improve equipment efficiency and minimize downtime. Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) Ensure compliance with Siemens Energy and customer HSE policies, procedures, and safety standards.
Follow Permit-to-Work requirements and ensure safe working practices at customer sites. Participate in safety meetings, toolbox talks, and other HSE activities. Identify potential safety hazards and proactively recommend improvements. Ensure all maintenance and service activities are performed safely and in accordance with applicable quality requirements.
Technical Reporting & Customer Support Prepare accurate and timely daily reports covering field service activities, maintenance progress, and ongoing projects. Maintain and update equipment maintenance histories to support performance monitoring and maintenance planning. Provide technical feedback using established reporting formats.
Maintain effective communication with supervisors, customer representatives, and relevant stakeholders. Ensure customer expectations are met through professional technical support and high-quality service delivery. What You Bring Education Engineering degree, diploma, or equivalent technical qualification in Mechanical, Electrical, or Electromechanical Engineering.
Higher levels of relevant technical experience and expertise may be considered in relation to academic qualifications. Experience Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in field service, maintenance, or technical support within the industrial sector. Proven hands-on experience working with recognized centrifugal compressor product lines.
Experience in the maintenance, inspection, troubleshooting, and servicing of centrifugal gas compressors and associated packages. Experience working in onshore and offshore environments is essential. Strong background in rotating equipment is considered an advantage. Familiarity with gas compression theory, compressor package systems, and process operations is considered an advantage.
