About the Job
Med. Star Health is seeking an experienced Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our Cardiovascular Critical Care team at Med. Star Washington Hospital Center , flagship of the Med. Star Heart & Vascular Institute. Practice at the top of your license in a high-acuity cardiovascular critical care environment alongside intensivists, cardiac surgeons, advanced heart failure specialists, and a multidisciplinary team.

S. News & World Report. Preferred Experience: Minimum (1) Year Experience as Advanced Practice Provider in ICU, VICU, CICU, cardiothoracic critical care. LVAD, ECMO, and advanced procedures.
What You'll Do
Manage patients following cardiac and vascular surgery, as well as those with advanced heart failure, LVADs, ECMO, and complex cardiovascular critical illness Evaluate and manage shock, respiratory failure, heart failure, renal failure, and other critical illnesses Participate in multidisciplinary rounds and collaborate with intensivists, surgeons, specialists, and the ICU team Perform advanced bedside procedures including central venous and dialysis catheters, arterial lines, chest tubes, and thoracentesis Contribute to APP education, mentorship, quality improvement, and professional development Qualifications Graduate of an accredited AGACNP or PA program with current national certification Current BLS and ACLS Minimum one year of APP experience in an ICU CVICU, CICU, cardiothoracic critical care, LVAD, ECMO, and advanced procedural experience preferred Schedule & Benefits 13-hour day and night shifts.
