We Are Looking For Someone Like You As a VC Detailer, you will be a vital member of Murphy’s VC team. You will be responsible for creating 3D piping/plumbing models from design drawings while using a high sense of collaboration working with design teams.
Also, you will need an understanding of coordination, of all trades, for clearances and avoidance of collisions (clash detection). You will be trained in the internal Murphy process of our layout system (Trimble). You will be responsible with helping with troubleshooting and equipment management. Your Day-to-Day at Murphy Company Creating 3D fabrication models for piping/plumbing from design drawings Detailing a system that can be fabricated and installed in compliance with all applicable codes, industry standards and installation requirements Learning and understanding Trimble process to relaying modeling layout data to field Following Murphy Company SOP’s and Guidelines to supply error free information to Murphy Shops and Field Teams.
Bring Your A-Game! Our ideal candidate should possess the following traits: 3+ Years’ Experience with BIM/VC 1+ Years Field Experience with Plumbing Installation Understanding of the Current Plumbing Codes (2009 and 2016) Willingness to understand the intricacies of the St. Louis Plumbing Code Willingness to learn robotic total stations and how they work with modeling software Understanding of Max Fabrication Techniques REVIT AutoCAD Navisworks: Manage and Review Revizto BIM Collaboration (C4R, BIM 360) Autodesk Fabrication CADmep, is a plus Project Coordination Meetings Detailed piping/plumbing models, layouts, drawings Generating Bill of Materials (BOM) reports Creating isometric spool drawings Providing Construction support Communication and organizational skills Understanding of Architectural, Structural, MEP, and Fire Sprinkler drawings What We Will Bring to the Table A collaborative, family-friendly work environment Knowledge and expertise that has helped us grow and thrive for nearly 120 years.
