Southeastern Integrated Care (SEIC) is looking for a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) who wants to do more than simply manage medications.

At SEIC, behavioral health, substance use treatment, primary care, nursing, peer support, care management, residential services, and community-based programs work together around the needs of the people we serve. As our PMHNP, you will provide psychiatric evaluation, diagnosis, evidence-based medication management, and ongoing behavioral health treatment through a combination of in-person and telehealth services.

You will have the opportunity to work collaboratively with an interdisciplinary team while helping individuals with mental health and co-occurring substance use conditions achieve greater stability, recovery, and overall wellness.

What You'll Do

Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations and develop individualized treatment plans. Diagnose and treat mental health and co-occurring substance use disorders. Prescribe, manage, and monitor psychiatric medications. Monitor effectiveness, adherence, interactions, contraindications, and side effects. Order and review laboratory and diagnostic testing related to psychiatric treatment.

Provide psychiatric follow-up, medication management, consultation, and other clinically appropriate services through telehealth as well as in person. Assess suicide risk, violence risk, substance use, withdrawal risk, and other behavioral health safety concerns. Determine appropriate interventions and levels of care and coordinate emergency or higher-level services when clinically indicated.

Collaborate closely with primary care providers, therapists, nurses, substance use professionals, care managers, peer support specialists, residential staff, and other members of the interdisciplinary team. Coordinate referrals to therapy, substance use treatment, primary care, specialty care, and higher levels of behavioral health care when needed.

Educate individuals, families, and care partners about medications, treatment goals, adherence, risks, side effects, and warning signs. Support continuity of care across outpatient, residential, crisis, hospital, community, and partner settings. Participate in treatment planning, case consultation, quality improvement, and development or review of medication-related clinical practices.

Provide after-hours clinical support as needed and when assigned based on patient, program, or organizational needs.

What We're Looking For

Master's or doctoral degree from an accredited Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner program. Current national certification as a Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC). Current, unrestricted North Carolina RN license and authorization to practice as a Nurse Practitioner in North Carolina, as applicable.

DEA registration or ability to obtain required registration. Strong competency in psychiatric assessment, diagnosis, treatment planning, and medication management. Ability to work independently while also being an active member of an interdisciplinary team. Experience with community behavioral health, integrated care, co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders, crisis assessment, residential services, medication management, telehealth, or underserved populations is preferred.

Why SEIC? We believe good behavioral healthcare happens when we treat the whole person, not simply a diagnosis. You'll join an organization where behavioral health is connected with primary care, substance use treatment, nursing, peer support, residential services, and community-based care. SEIC offers: Competitive compensation Hybrid in-person and telehealth practice Collaborative interdisciplinary care model Opportunities to work across a variety of behavioral health settings Annual professional development allowance for training and continuing education Support for ongoing professional growth and clinical development Health/dental/vision benefits PTO and paid holidays Retirement plan/match CME/CE paid time Licensure/DEA reimbursement A Different Way to Practice If you're looking for a position where you can build relationships, collaborate across disciplines, use both in-person and virtual care, and help shape how psychiatric services fit into a larger integrated-care system, we would like to talk with you.

Join Southeastern Integrated Care and help us build care around people—not programs. Apply today to start the conversation.
