Radiology Tech

Under the immediate supervision of the Medical Imaging Supervisor, the Radiology Technologist is responsible for conducting routine X-Ray/CT procedures and ensuring all Physician and customer needs are met through clinical and administrative tasks. Position Function and Duties: Perform X-Rays:

• Operates all fixed and Portable Radiographic Equipment
• Performs all Trauma Protocols
• Able to assess plan and provides individualized care for patients taking into account the mental status development and physical needs of each patient based on age
• Performs all Fluoro procedures
• Performs all OR procedures CT:
• Performs CT scan procedures per CT Procedure Manual / Recognizes emergency situations, initiates code procedures, and administers first aid/CPR
• Assists patients on and off the table
• Prepares and calculates appropriate dosage and/or administers contrast media i.e. orally, IV, rectally
• Starts Intravenous lines and administers IV Contrast
• Assists the Radiologist in biopsies, abscess drainages and other procedures
• Performs daily safety warmup and quality control check on CT equipment PACS:
• Ensures all computed and digital images are properly archived on Synapse
• Scans Documents in a timely manner
• Trouble shoots as needed
• Pushes images to other Hospitals
• Burns Cd's/and enters Tech notes into each exam completed HIS/RIS:
• Ensures timely reporting of exams
• Charges exams correctly
• Prints Schedules and checks Patient orders
• Confirms patient identity with two identifier Organizational Expectations:

• Familiarity with computer and other business machines Qualifications: Education: Graduate from an A.M.A approved school of Radiologic Technology Experience: 1 year of X-Ray Experience required. Clinical Rotations will be considered
• Job License and Certification: Must be Registered with the ARRT. RT required. CT required after 18 months of employment. BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required. Must be registered with the New Hampshire Board of Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy.
