Compensation

Through a structured training program, team members will learn dental procedures, clinical techniques, infection prevention practices, patient care protocols, radiography requirements, and daily clinic operations. This position is ideal for individuals who are organized, detail-oriented, compassionate, and eager to learn in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
Experienced Dental Assistants are encouraged to apply, and candidates without prior dental experience who demonstrate a strong work ethic and desire to learn will also be considered. Paid On-the-Job Training Qualified candidates may participate in a comprehensive training program that includes: Chairside assisting techniques and dental procedures Dental terminology and clinical workflows Infection prevention and sterilization protocols Dental radiography training and requirements OSHA and workplace safety standards Electronic health record documentation Patient communication and education Clinic policies, procedures, and best practices Our goal is to develop confident, skilled team members who are committed to providing exceptional patient care.
Essential Responsibilities Prepare & clean treatment rooms, instruments, equipment, and materials for dental procedures Assist the dentist during preventive, restorative, and emergency procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques Take and process dental radiographs in accordance with Washington State regulations and training requirements Clean, disinfect, sterilize, and maintain dental instruments and equipment following infection prevention protocols Prepare dental materials and assist with procedures within the Dental Assistant scope of practice Accurately document patient information in the electronic health record Educate patients on oral hygiene, preventive care, and post-treatment instructions Help create a welcoming and positive experience for patients of all ages Maintain inventory and ensure operatories are fully stocked and organized Ensure treatment areas remain clean, organized, and compliant with OSHA and infection control standards Collaborate with the dentist and clinic staff to deliver exceptional patient-centered care Participate in training activities and competency development as required Perform other duties as assigned within the scope of the position Qualifications Required High school diploma or GED equivalent Current BLS Certification, or ability to obtain upon hire Strong communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail Ability to learn new concepts, procedures, and clinical protocols Ability to work effectively in a collaborative healthcare environment Professional, dependable, and patient-focused approach to care Preferred Previous Dental Assistant experience Current Washington State Dental Assistant Registration, or ability to obtain as required Experience in healthcare, dental, or customer service settings Experience with digital radiography Experience using electronic dental records or dental practice management software Why Columbia Family Dental Clinic?
