About the Role

The Production Supervisor 1 plays a critical role in overseeing and coordinating daily manufacturing operations to ensure efficient production processes and high-quality output. This position is responsible for managing production staff, monitoring workflow, and maintaining safety and compliance standards within the manufacturing environment.

The supervisor will work closely with cross-functional teams including quality control, maintenance, and logistics to optimize production schedules and resolve any operational issues promptly. A key outcome of this role is to meet or exceed production targets while minimizing downtime and waste. Ultimately, the Production Supervisor 1 ensures that manufacturing goals align with company standards and customer expectations, fostering a productive and safe workplace.

Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate degree or higher in manufacturing, engineering, or related field preferred. Minimum of 2 years of experience in a manufacturing environment with supervisory responsibilities. Strong understanding of production processes, safety standards, and quality control procedures.

Proficiency in using manufacturing software and basic computer applications. Ability to work flexible hours including shifts, weekends, or overtime as needed.

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Management, or related discipline. Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies. Certification in production supervision or safety management (e.g., OSHA certification). Demonstrated leadership experience in a high-volume manufacturing setting.

Familiarity with ERP systems and advanced data analysis tools.

Responsibilities

Supervise and lead production team members to achieve daily and weekly manufacturing goals. Monitor production processes and adjust schedules or resources as needed to maintain efficiency. Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies to maintain a safe working environment. Collaborate with quality assurance to address product quality issues and implement corrective actions.

Train, mentor, and evaluate production staff to promote skill development and performance improvement. Maintain accurate production records and prepare reports on operational performance. Coordinate with maintenance teams to schedule equipment repairs and preventive maintenance. Identify opportunities for process improvements and support continuous improvement initiatives.
