Health Technician (Optometry)

You will serve as a HEALTH TECHNICIAN (OPTOMETRY) in the QUALITY ASSURANCE of NAVOPHTHALSUPPTRACT VA.

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-06 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:

• Experience receiving, editing, and processing optical ordering forms for military personnel authorized medical and optical services
• Experience in interpreting an optical prescription and knowledge of associated terms of optometry
• Experience with ordering, fitting, adjusting, dispensing, and repairing glasses for patients eligible for prescription eyewear

Graduate education or an internship meets the specialized experience required above GS-5 only in those instances where it is directly related to the work of the position. One full year of graduate education meets the requirements for GS-7.
