Description FLSA Classification: Full-Time, Exempt The Country Music Hall of Fame® and Museum has an opening for a full-time, exempt Maintenance Technician in the Facilities Department Company Overview: Accredited by the American Alliance of Museums, t he Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum has been called the “Smithsonian of country music,” celebrated for its broad cultural impact, educational mission, and unrivaled collection of historically important artifacts.
Chartered by the state of Tennessee in 1964, the Museum is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, educational organization that documents and interprets the history of country music. The Museum collects objects and archival materials that illustrate the evolving history and traditions of country music and provides diverse learning opportunities through educational programs, publications, and exhibitions.
First opened in 1967 on Nashville’s Music Row, the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum launched its current downtown location in 2001. In 2014, the Museum unveiled a $100 million expansion that doubled its footprint. The Museum now encompasses 350,000 square feet of exhibition galleries, archival storage, retail stores, and event space.
The Museum owns Hatch Show Print, a letterpress print shop opened in 1879, and it operates Historic RCA Studio B, where Dolly Parton, Elvis Presley, and many others recorded. In addition, the Museum offers the Taylor Swift Education Center for students, teachers, and families, and dedicated performance spaces in the CMA Theater and Ford Theater, both of which regularly host nationally recognized live music and cultural events.
In 2024, the Museum was awarded the prestigious National Medal of Arts by President Joe Biden. The medal is the highest award given to artists and arts institutions by the United States government. The White House Citation, which accompanied the medal, recognized the Museum’s work, which “preserves history, honors giants of the genre, and inspires future generations to write their own songs about the American story.

This position is responsible for the ongoing upkeep, repair, and enhancement of the Museum's buildings, exhibits, artifacts, and related assets across all company locations. Success in this role requires a strong sense of urgency, attention to detail, and professional, courteous communication. The Maintenance Technician reports directly to the Facilities Manager and is an essential part of a team dedicated to excellence in facility operations.
*This is a 3rd shift position (10pm-6am) Specific Job Duties Include: Inspections: Regularly inspect buildings and equipment to identify potential issues and maintenance needs. Repairs: Perform general/minor repairs on plumbing, electrical (preferred), HVAC, and other building systems, as well as carpentry, flooring, painting, and other tasks.
PMs: Conduct routine maintenance on equipment and machinery. Troubleshooting: Assess, diagnose, and effectively solve problems with equipment and building systems. Vendor/contractor: Escort and assist vendors or contractors during repairs, inspections, and special projects as needed. Safety: Adhere to safety regulations and procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
Communication: Communicate effectively with supervisors, team members, guests, and external partners. Time Management: Prioritize tasks and manage time effectively. Adaptability: Respond to changing priorities, schedules, and emergency needs - including availability for occasional weekend or on-call duties. Professionalism: Demonstrate reliability, integrity, and respect in all work interactions.
Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent Technical Knowledge : Solid understanding of basic building systems - electrical (preferred), plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, and general maintenance procedures. Proficiency with hand and power tools Preferred Qualifications: Building Automation System (BAS) experience preferred Basic computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) preferred Conditions of Employment: This is a 3rd shift position (10pm-6am) Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
Must be able to work a flexible schedule, may include weekends and holidays. Ability to perform work that may involve standing for long periods, lifting heavy objects, and working in various conditions.
