Job Overview : Index Industries is looking for an organized, detail-oriented Buyer to join our Purchasing team. Working closely with our Director of Procurement & AI Strategy, you’ll help keep products moving by placing orders, working with vendors, and making sure our inventory meets customer demand. This is a great opportunity for someone with office experience who wants to grow a career in purchasing and supply chain.

Key Responsibilities

Place orders based on demand, lead times, and min/max inventory levels Contact vendors for quotes, pricing, and delivery schedules, and source new suppliers Expedite orders and track shipments to make sure products arrive on time Manage PO revisions, cancellations, and invoice discrepancies Keep Sales informed about lead-time and pricing changes, and work with them to understand customer demand Build spreadsheets and run reports to analyze sales and inventory data Maintain accurate purchasing records, files, and inventory adjustments Support the Lead Buyer with administrative and purchasing tasks Qualifications: 3+ years of office experience 1+ year of purchasing experience preferred Working knowledge of AI tools (e.

g., ChatGPT, Claude, Copilot, etc.) Proficiency in MS Excel, Word, and Outlook Strong math, organizational, and problem-solving skills Clear written and verbal communication, including confident phone skills Ability to manage multiple priorities, adapt quickly, and stay focused on details Ability to negotiate pricing, terms, and delivery with vendors What We Offer: Competitive base salary A benefits package that includes a retirement plan and health care, along with tuition reimbursement.
