Pathology Transcriptionist Location: Bridgeport, WV 26330 (WV0101) Job Summary We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Pathology Transcriptionist to join our medical team in Bridgeport, WV. The ideal candidate will be responsible for accurately transcribing pathology reports and other related medical documents from audio recordings, ensuring clarity, accuracy, and compliance with medical standards.

Key Responsibilities

Transcribe dictated pathology reports, including surgical pathology and other related documents. Review and edit transcriptions for accuracy, grammar, and medical terminology. Ensure timely completion and delivery of transcribed reports to the appropriate medical personnel. Maintain confidentiality and security of patient information in compliance with HIPAA regulations.

Collaborate with pathologists and other healthcare professionals to clarify unclear dictations or terminology. Utilize transcription software and tools efficiently to enhance productivity. Stay updated on medical terminology, pathology procedures, and transcription best practices.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent; additional certification in medical transcription or related field preferred. Proven experience as a medical or pathology transcriptionist. Strong knowledge of medical terminology, especially pathology-related terms. Excellent listening, typing, and proofreading skills with high attention to detail.

Familiarity with transcription software and electronic medical records (EMR) systems. Ability to work independently and manage time effectively to meet deadlines. Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with medical staff. Work Environment This position is based in our Bridgeport, WV facility. The role may require extended periods of sitting and computer use.
