ACE Activity Leader

Job Title: ACE Activity Leader Reports To: ACE Program Coordinator & Campus Administration Organization: Tejano Center Division: RYSS Texas Public Schools Location: RYSS Primary School at Broadway POSITION SUMMARY The ACE Activity Leader provides a safe, structured, and engaging after-school experience for students in Kindergarten through Grade 5. The Activity Leader plans and facilitates academic, enrichment, recreational, and social-emotional activities; maintains accurate program records; supports student supervision and dismissal; and helps ensure that campus implementation meets ACE grant requirements and RYSS expectations. Prekindergarten students may participate when enrolled with an eligible sibling.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Minimum Qualifications High school diploma or GED required; associate or bachelor's degree, college coursework, or relevant certification preferred. Experience working with elementary-age children in a school, childcare, after-school, camp, recreation, tutoring, or youth-development setting preferred. Ability to facilitate structured activities and manage groups of students effectively.

Strong communication, organization, reliability, and teamwork skills. Ability to complete required background checks, training, and documentation before working with students. Bilingual English/Spanish skills preferred. SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND ABILITIES Knowledge of child development, positive behavior supports, and age-appropriate instructional and enrichment practices.

Ability to follow lesson plans, activity guides, schedules, safety procedures, and grant documentation requirements. Ability to build positive relationships while maintaining appropriate professional boundaries. Ability to respond to emergencies, follow directions, and exercise sound judgment. Basic technology skills for attendance, communication, records, and program reporting.
