Key responsibilities

Provide emergency resuscitation and required urgent medical stabilisation of critical patients. Assess patients fitness to undertake an operation before the surgery takes place. initiate anaesthesia, providing safe pre-operative, during and post-operative care using anaesthetics and pain management. work in a team of other health professionals to ensure patient wellbeing.

perform administrative tasks in areas which relate to the care of patients, including summaries of patient treatment and the writing of discharge letters attend multidisciplinary team meetings both on and off-site participate in an agreed on-call rota and take on an equal share in providing emergency cover Requirements: Medical Doctor with Diploma in Anaesthesia or Anaesthetisiology specialisation.

Valid Registration with HPCSA Over 6 months of Anastehtsia experience in a busy hospital. Good communication skills. Team-player Flexible to work in insecure context.
