Job description
A Snapshot of Your Day. As the Global Responsible for Customs Reporting, you will shape and lead the development of Siemens Energy’s global customs reporting capabilities. You will work across regions and functions to establish a consistent reporting strategy, strengthen data governance, and modernize the technology landscape supporting customs operations.
Your day will involve connecting customs expertise with data, technology, and strategic business needs. You will collaborate with regional customs teams, IT, Functional Excellence, external partners, and senior stakeholders to understand complex requirements, validate assumptions, improve data quality, and develop scalable global reporting solutions.
You will also guide a specialized global team through expertise, collaboration, and influence.How You’ll Make an Impact* Define, implement, and continuously improve a global customs reporting strategy aligned with evolving international trade regulations, tariff structures, compliance requirements, and business priorities.

Establish global data governance standards, reporting principles, quality controls, and compliance frameworks across multiple countries and regions, including Europe, Asia-Pacific, and Latin America.* Lead the modernization of the customs reporting and technology landscape by assessing, selecting, implementing, and integrating customs, data, analytics, and business intelligence solutions.

Drive process automation and data quality initiatives to reduce manual reporting activities, improve transparency, and minimize customs compliance and tariff-related risks.* Collaborate closely with Customs, Functional Excellence, IT, Finance, regional teams, and external vendors to integrate customs data with enterprise systems and enable reliable, scalable, and automated reporting.

Translate complex customs and trade data into actionable insights, compliance reports, and management information for the Global Head of Customs, CFO leadership, and other senior stakeholders.* Monitor global customs reporting trends, regulatory developments, and tariff impacts, providing strategic guidance and supporting regional business units in identifying appropriate mitigation actions.

Build strong global stakeholder networks to understand regional requirements, validate proposed solutions, and ensure that reporting processes reflect the complexity of Siemens Energy’s businesses and organizational structure.* Guide and develop a specialized global customs reporting team, establishing clear objectives, priorities, performance indicators, and ways of working while leading effectively through expertise and influence.
What You Bring* Bachelor’s degree in International Trade, Logistics, Finance, Business Administration, Information Technology, Data Analytics, or a related field. A Master’s degree or MBA is preferred.* 8 to 10 years of professional experience in customs compliance, global trade operations, customs reporting, or a related field within a multinational organization.

Demonstrated experience working with customs, trade compliance, or reporting processes covering multiple countries or regions, with the ability to develop solutions from a global rather than a single-country perspective.* Proven experience leading or playing a key role in digital transformation, system implementation, process automation, data governance, or technology integration projects within customs, tax, trade compliance, or a related environment.

Strong understanding of global customs regulations and compliance principles, including tariff classification, customs valuation, free trade agreements, and rules of origin.* Strong technology orientation and the ability to understand how customs systems, enterprise platforms, data environments, and reporting tools connect to support global business processes.

Experience with SAP or comparable ERP environments. Knowledge of SAP GTS, MIC Customs Solutions, Snowflake, Power BI, Tableau, or similar customs, data, and business intelligence platforms is an advantage.* Strong strategic and analytical thinking, with the ability to assess complex environments, validate assumptions, engage relevant stakeholders, and develop practical, scalable solutions.

Experience leading global or cross-functional teams, projects, or professional communities, including situations where success depends on influence rather than direct reporting authority.* Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with technical specialists, regional teams, external partners, and senior management.

Advanced English proficiency, with the ability to conduct complex business discussions, deliver presentations, and communicate effectively with senior global stakeholders.* Willingness and ability to travel internationally as required for the role.About the Team. You will join Siemens Energy’s global Taxes & Customs organization and contribute to the establishment of a dedicated global customs reporting function.
The team is being created to respond to evolving international trade regulations, increasing tariff complexity, and growing demand for transparent, accurate, and actionable customs information.Working closely with regional customs teams, IT, Functional Excellence, Finance, and other internal stakeholders, the team will define new global standards, improve data governance, and transform the customs reporting technology landscape.
